What LibWatch reads in the repository

- `Gemfile`
- `Gemfile.lock`
- `*.gemspec`
- `.ruby-version`

Language version: .ruby-version or .tool-versions

Nothing else: no cloning, no code run.

Frequently asked questions

## LibWatch and Ruby

### Do I need to install anything in the project?

No. LibWatch reads dependency files through the GitHub or GitLab API, without adding anything to your pipeline.

### Are private registries supported?

Yes. A package from a private registry is identified as such: its name is never sent to a third-party service, and it stays in the project's inventory.

### Does LibWatch detect the version installed on the server?

No. LibWatch reads the version declared in the repository (version file, lockfile or manifest). It has no access to your servers.
